Villagers gathered at Wilmslow Golf Club on Wednesday evening to raise a glass and celebrate the success of this year’s Family Fun Day.
On the day the weather held and the car park gradually filled. Villagers and visitors from afar enjoyed the food stands, browsed the Artisan Market. The children had a great time in the Kids Zone and on the water in Benny’s Bumper Boats.
The event was the culmination of nine months of planning by the Great Warford Residents Group and success on the day was only possibly thanks to the thirty plus villagers who gave their time.
Treasurer, Helen Thomas, has now finalised the accounts for the day and announced that the event had produced a surplus of £3292. The organising committee confirmed that half of the surplus would be donated to our friends at the David Lewis Centre with the balance being used for projects around the village.
We would like to thank all villagers who were able to attend and remind all that next Saturday, 13th July, the David Lewis Centre are holding their own Summer Fair.
The Residents Group hope that as many villagers as possible are also able to support this event.
